You know that word… networking.

The one that makes most of us inwardly groan and picture stuffy vibes, awkward intros, and someone droning on about targets, while you politely smile and pretend you’re having the best time. 

I used to hate it too.

But here’s the thing: I’ve changed my mind.

We are a network – just not the kind you’re thinking of.

Let’s talk about something I see all the time...

You go to a networking event (maybe one of ours), chat to a few fab women, sip a cuppa, leave feeling pretty chuffed... and then wonder why no one’s messaged to work with you the next day.

In the world of service-based businesses, it’s not just about what you do – it’s about who you are.

I’ve never been a fan of the more traditional, corporate-style networking. It’s just not for me. But to be clear – I’m not against networking. I genuinely believe in the power of building connections to grow your business.

We get it – free events and resources are tempting. From masterclasses, e-books to coworking and networking events, there’s so much out there at no cost. But at Pink Coral, we charge a membership fee and for our in-person events for good reason.

It can be daunting joining a new community.

You feel like the new kid in school, with a flashing neon light over your head that says “I’m new!”

I usually shy away from labels but “introvert” suits me perfectly. I like staying in over going out. I prefer smaller, more intimate groups over big groups. I love a deep conversation rather than meaningless small talk.
