What To Look For When Exploring New Communities

It can be daunting joining a new community. You feel like the new kid in school, with a flashing neon light over your head that says “I’m new!”

But sometimes you’ve got to be brave and take that step. 

When you’re looking for a new community think about…

• Who else is in it? Check out their socials, what do they do, what’s their vibe?

• Who runs it? Have a chat with them and see if you get on

• What events do they run? Are they at good times for you? Are they helpful for you?

• Do they offer a free session/event? 

I can give you all the advice in the world about what to look for. But it won’t help you. Because you need to try it for yourself. If you don’t turn up and see it for yourself then you’ll never find out if it’s right for you. 

You can’t say you don’t like salted caramel without having a bite.

Not every community will be for you, but when you find the one that is - your work world will be transformed.
